WHO YOU ARE MATTERS
I grew up in Chino Hills, California. It’s a suburban area, where you can smell the breath of fresh air outside. You can hear nothing, but the birds chirping in the morning as you wake up. Going back home brings a sense of escape from the urban lifestyle of constant noise, traffic and responsibilities.
My future endeavors involve pursuing a career in Finance where I can make an impact and generate growth within companies. I plan to achieve this goal through expanding my network and knowledge in the industry where I can utilize the skills and techniques that I learned in my classes in applying it to my future career.
I am similar to my parents in sense that I am hardworking, caring, and motivated to be successful in life. We have the same charismatic quality of being unselfish to others. Some similar physical features include my dad’s tall height and my mom’s hazel eyes. In terms of differences, they are more decisive than I am. I hesitate sometimes when it comes to making decisions, which can pose as a weakness.
Throughout my life I would say that I develop my own expectations for myself. I try to set my own personal goals and I am proud to say that I achieved most of them. For example, I set my own goal to get out of my comfort zone and try new adventurous things. Over this past year, I explored a lot different places and restaurants across Southern California, while meeting a lot of amazing friends along the way.
Kobe Bryant is my model for someone who lives life with great passion and personal responsibility. His love for basketball is what motivated him to become an exceptional player on and off the court. Many people idolized him for his “Mamba Mentality” leading to the greatest achievements and success in basketball. He holds a lot of professionalism in his career being an icon to his fans.
Out of all the animals in the world, the animal that I feel a special connection with is the wolf. A wolf is quiet, pretentious, and has a focused and alert mentality in the wild. This is a similar reflection of myself when I attempt to achieve my goals and objectives whether its personal or academic.
Growing up as a child, I would frequently visit my grandma at her house. She loved growing fruits in her backyard. Out of all the fruits she grew, the lemon tree was the one that stood out to me. Every summer when the lemons were ripe, she would pick them from the tree and hand them to our family, friends, and neighbors. This lemon tree is significant to me because it demonstrates the importance of giving back and helping others. This is a quality that I will always remember about my grandma.

Hi Alan! It's nice to meet you. I hope you can achieve your goal and find a good job you like. I love wolf. I feel special attracted by this animal because sometimes I think they are lonely and elegant.
ReplyDeleteI feel obligated to ask this since you might be the first person I meet from Chino Hills, what is your opinion on the Ball family? I enjoyed reading your blogs and commend you on being able to set a goal such as stepping out of your comfort zone and more importantly achieving that goal. People often set very crazy long term goals and I like how you're goal oriented and can set short term goals and succeed.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post! I can relate to always setting my own expectations. I think it is important to take ownership in the decisions we make. Congrats on accomplishing your goals!
ReplyDeleteHi Alan, great post! I am pursuing a career in finance as well I would love to hear specifically what you plan on doing in the industry? Also, I really enjoyed the story about your grandma and the lemon tree!
